TEFL Course Theory

What is the Course Timetable?

The course is a four week, 120 hour course, given once a month that usually begins during the first week of the month.

A) The Specific Course Timetable is:

  1. TEFL Theory Class (40 hours total, 2.5 hours a day, four days a week)
    Monday - Thursday 9:30 am to 12:00 noon.
  2. TEFL Young Learners Practice Class (20 hours total, 2.5 hours a day, twice a week)
    Monday & Wednesday: 12:30 pm to 15:00 hr.
  3. TEFL Business English Practice Class (20hrs total, 2.5 hrs a day, twice a week)
  4. TEFL Observed Teaching and Practice Teaching (20 hours total, 5 hours a day, once a week)
    Friday: 9:30 am to 12:00 noon and 12:30 pm to 15:00 hr.
  5. TEFL Internship Teaching (20 hours total, 5 hours a week, various evenings a week)
    Monday - Friday: Various days between 17:30 hr. and 21:30 hr.

TEFL  Observed Teaching and Practice Teaching Outline

Week 1 to Week 4:  Friday, 9:30 am to 12:00 noon and 12:30 pm to 15:00 hr.

1. Trainees observe various classes of expert teachers for six hours.
2. All classes are video-taped.
3. Trainees teach various classes for thirty minutes each and are 
    observed by both their peers and an expert trainer.
4. All classes are video-taped.
5. All classes are reviewed and all trainees are involved in 
    discussion/feedback sessions.
6. All classes are assessed by an expert trainer.
